Maggie's Balloon Fun
We bought Maggie a mylar helium balloon last week. We first discovered her love for them when I got one for my birthday last year, and she took it from me. She likes to jump up for the string, and when she gets it, she walks around the house with it in her mouth. It’s really cute- she's like a little kid.

She’ll chew on the string for a while, and then she lets it go. I think she likes the challenge of chasing it. Unfortunately, we have cathedral ceilings in our den, and she can only jump so high:

Buddha tries to play with it, but he is terrified of the balloon part of it. He likes the idea of the string, but that big shiny thing keeps following him. I think the resistance throws him off; he's not used to his toys pulling away from him! The other night, he got up enough nerve, jumped up, and got the string in his mouth- and then TOOK OFF RUNNING. We’re talking top-30-mile-an-hour-kitty-crack-speed through the house with the balloon in tow. Down went the glass of water on the coffee table, down went the lamp on the end table, and under the bed Buddha went once he finally let go of the string. It’s amazing the damage that can happen in a matter of seconds.

Wild times at your house...but cheap entertainment.
